This Science Cafe was held on September 19, 2025 at the Hadley Public Library and on Zoom.

Dr. Rich is a medical zoologist and microbiologist at UMass Amherst. He studies zoonotic diseases, including malaria and tick-borne illnesses like Lyme Disease. His lab engages in applied research as well as outreach to help keep people safe from harmful pathogens. We had a great night discussing ticks, tick diseases, and how to protect yourself!
